Are you sober or are you free from alcohol?

My clients will notice that I use the term "alcohol free" or "free from alcohol" instead of the term sober. Why?
First of all, to me, sober sounds boring. No fun. Serious. The term sober conjures up to me a feeling of being deprived, white knuckling, "dry drunk".
Compare this to the feeling of FREEDOM. To me, feeling free is the ultimate goal for living life to the fullest. When I say that I am free from alcohol, I mean precisely that. A substance doesn't have any power over me anymore. I can take it or leave it and I choose to leave it. To me, that is the ultimate feeling and the word "sober" doesn't embody that. What do you think?
